THAT REQUIRE TAP DANCERS
42nd Street, A Chorus Line, Cats, An American in Paris, Anything Goes, Billy Elliot, Newsies, The Producers, Singin' in the Rain, Something Rotten, Thoroughly Modern Millie, White Christmas and more...
yes, you can
Are you skipping auditions for shows you're perfect for just because you might have to tap? Does the very phrase "tap dancing" make you anxious? Why are you limiting yourself when you could be expanding your range of talents and booking those shows?

Rhythm and coordination are fundamental elements of music and performance. If you're auditioning for musicals, you already possess these necessary qualities for tap dance. They just need to be refined and channeled to your feet!

Performers shell out hundreds of dollars a month for voice lessons and coaching, but often aren't willing to spend twenty dollars on a dance class. And if you're a beginner, I can understand why! Large classes don't provide the necessary attention to each student that will expedite your improvement. Private coaching for any skill is much more cost efficient because it's a more productive use of your time!

Grant studied rhythm tap for ten years, beginning at age 8, at Anita's Theatre Dance & Performing Arts (now Anita's Elite Dance) in Sterling Heights, MI. While attending Point Park University, he studied with Jeremy Czarniak (Founder, Czarniak Tap Co.) and Jodi Welch (Pittsburgh CLO). He also served as Dance Captain for Point Park's production of The Producers, featuring Susan Stroman's original choreography (recreated by Tome Cousin & Lauren Kadel). He also tapped as a featured guest artist with the post-modern jazz dance company, The Pillow Project, for a night of improvisation with a live jazz band.
Since moving to New York, he's periodically studied with Ray Hesselink and Randy Skinner, as well as attending the 2016 Big Apple Tap Festival, where he took class from an impressive range of tap celebrities such as: Brenda Bufalino, Bob Audy, Bril Barrett, Ofer Ben & Avi Miller, Karen Callaway-Williams, DeWitt Fleming, Ray Hesselink, Gregg Russell, Germaine Salzberg, Jimmy Tate, and Dianne 'Lady Di' Walker.
Grant's love for tap has also led him to independently study outside of regular classes, and his knowledge of tap history and style is constantly growing. To see his most recent tap video, visit the Videos page.
